Cornyn Statement on Senate Democrats Shutting Down the Federal Government

“The Left’s progressive base and allies in the media have conjured up an ignorant illusion that they can force Republicans to accept their demands in exchange for keeping the lights on, but that could not be further from the truth,” said Senator John Cornyn, after Senate Democrats, led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), once again voted against the clean short-term government funding bill passed by the House of Representatives, ensuring the federal government will shut down."

Obamacare's Collapse

If anything good has come out of the budget shutdown, it is the revelation that Obamacare is, was, and always will be a financial sham.  That's ironic because Obama and his supporters say the health law was his "greatest achievement." The Affordable Care Act was supposed to expand health coverage and lower costs. Obamacare was always a racket and the Left knew it all along.

Get Tough on Criminals to Avoid Needing the Guard

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson went to court Monday to stop President Donald Trump from sending National Guard troops to the Windy City, calling mob violence against immigration officials a "flimsy pretext." The Illinois lawsuit claims that Trump is sending the Guard to Chicago to "fight crime," not just protect federal buildings and personnel. Horrors! What's wrong with fighting crime?

CONG. McCAUL: Doubling the Amount of Research Funding for Pediatric Cancer

As the founder of the Congressional Childhood Cancer Caucus, I've long fought for these precious children in Washington — and that's exactly what they're getting from President Donald Trump. CONG, BABIN: Here's What Democrats Demand in Exchange for Keeping Government Open

At 12:01 a.m. last Wednesday, Senate Democrats forced a Government Shutdown. Two weeks ago, House Republicans passed a clean, non-partisan Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the government open. Simply put, we did our job. Senate Democrats refused to do theirs. Why? Because Chuck Schumer and his Democrat Caucus want to load up a simple 24-page bill with a mountain of radical, America-last policies.

MOORE: Closing the 'Digital Divide' and Enhancing Our Economy & National Security

A great but unheralded feature of the One Big Beautiful Bill called for the sale of 600 to 800 megahertz of bandwidth to the private sector to enable the U.S. to expand 5G and 6G technology – ensuring American dominance in Internet, Artificial Intelligence, and Satellite Technologies. President Trump gets this, and has said he supports freeing up "plenty of SPECTRUM" to assure America's "status as the Worldwide Leader in WiFi, 5G and 6G."

Cong. Sessions: Senate Democrats Continue to Vote Down Govt. Funding

Under the Constitution, money cannot be withdrawn from the U.S. Treasury unless appropriated by Congress. With funding for the Federal Government expiring on October 1st, the House had done our job by passing a Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the government open at the current levels of spending until all 12 Appropriations Bills could be passed by both the House and the Senate. Senate cooperation, however, is required.

McCullough: Trump Pays the Troops, Democrats Pay Themselves

One party is forfeiting its own pay and standing up for Troops & Taxpayers alike. The other is hiding behind procedures, pointing fingers, and pretending the problem is someone else’s fault. This isn’t about optics; it’s about integrity. Rejecting pay while government is frozen isn’t just symbolic — it forces everyone else to look bad for not doing it. These aren’t just gestures for show — they underscore a fundamental contrast.
