Governor Greg Abbott notified Texans at home and abroad of safety protocols and resources in response to military actions in the Middle East that pose a threat to American civilians. Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East should follow the guidance in the latest security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. The Governor’s Office and DPS will continue to monitor developments and coordinate with federal partners to ensure Texans receive timely information as the situation evolves.

Below some of the headline findings from the latest Harvard-Harris poll (March 2) because these results surprised us and run opposite of what the media report. The majority of key Trump policies continue to see majority support. His most popular policies are lowering prescription drug prices (80% support), deporting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes (75%), eliminating fraud in government expenditures (71%), and capping credit card interest rates at 10% for one year (69%).

The Highway Trust Fund (HTF) is a federal funding mechanism that receives revenue from transportation-related taxes, primarily federal fuel taxes, and provides funding for highways and surface transportation. The Highway Formula Fairness Act guarantees that every state receives a proportion of total funding equal to its contribution to the HTF. Additionally, the legislation ensures that all states, including Texas, receive at least 95 percent of their HTF contributions.

On January 7, 2026, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on “Oversight of Fraud and Misuse of Federal Funds in Minnesota: Part I,” where the Committee heard from Minnesota state lawmakers who have sounded the alarm on fraud. State lawmakers testified that Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison failed to take action to address this widespread fraud and have retaliated against whistleblowers who raised concerns.  

Most students of history have likely pondered the question: Is it the times that make the man, or is it the man that makes the times? Sure, failure is cooked into Democrat's crazy liberal policies – but how many times do they have to fail before Americans see that California's a disaster, New York's being pummeled by a Socialist Mayor, and dozens of weekend murders in Chicago have gone on for years? The Left's brought us Open Borders, Transgender Insanity, High Crime & Taxes – possibly even acne. Do they love misery? And why don’t we give it up?

Governor Greg Abbott announced an expansion by Sika Corporation in Sealy as a qualified project under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. Sika will expand its manufacturing operations of PVC single-ply commercial roofing membranes in Austin County. The project represents more than $90 million in capital investment and will create 60 jobs.

“No one who enters the U.S. illegally should get to enjoy our God-given Constitutional Rights – including the right to keep and bear arms,” said Sen. Cornyn, as he, Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) and others introduced the "Stop Illegal Alien Cops Act" which would close a loophole in current law to prohibit illegal aliens from possessing firearms or ammunition provided to them by a government entity.

The first year of the second Trump Administration has been about getting this country back on track – restoring law and order at our border, a strong military, and a resilient economy.  I was proud to hear the President lay it out clearly. America is stronger when we stand firm, secure our homeland, back the men and women who wear the uniform, and unleash the full strength of our economy.

It truly is something to behold, the way President Donald Trump plays these Democrats like a cat swats around a mouse. The only difference in that dynamic is that the mouse can’t help itself; it doesn’t know it’s being played. Democrats…well, maybe they are only as smart as a mouse. It’s tough to know. The only things that can be known are just how pathetic Democrats are, and Donald Trump lives rent-free in their head, their dreams and in every breath they take.

Governor Greg Abbott today announced MP Materials Corp. will expand its presence in Texas and establish a rare earth magnet manufacturing campus in Northlake that will create more than 1,500 new jobs and represents more than $1.25 billion in capital investment. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $12,880,500 has been extended to MP Materials for the development of the campus’ corporate operations.

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) introduced the Officer John Barnes and Chief Michael Ansbro Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program Expansion Act of 2026. This bipartisan legislation would amend the existing Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) program to speed up benefit determinations and extend benefits to additional public safety officers.

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program has reached the midway point of its six-week family application window, with more than 130,000 student applications already submitted and more than 2,000 schools signed up to participate. Those numbers continue to rise daily. The family application period opened Feb. 4 and will close March 17, leaving three weeks remaining for families to apply.
