Reagan Warned Us About Media Power. We Should Listen.

Concentrated power has always been the enemy of freedom. Our Founders understood this truth as a matter of first principles; that’s why they divided authority among three coequal branches. Ronald Reagan applied the same logic to the media marketplace when his administration created limits on how large of a national audience any single broadcaster could reach. He recognized that when one entity controls too much of the information pipeline, the public’s ability to hear diverse viewpoints is the first casualty.

The House Republican Study Committee – the 189-member Caucus which I serve as chairman – has been working for months to develop a blueprint for a 2nd "Reconciliation Bill." In July we formed a working group charged with creating proposals that could command majority support, and survive Senate budget rules. We've since met with grassroots organizations, U.S. industry leaders, and legislative experts – and our framework advances at least 3 Key Priorities.

MOORE: If Young People Want More 'Affordability,' They Should Get Jobs

Why are they so financially stressed out? One reason things seem so "unaffordable" to young people is that too many aren't working hard – in fact, they're hardly even working. Labor Department data shows that fewer and fewer males between the ages of 16 and 24 are even in the labor force. It used to be that more than 70% had a job; now less than 60% do. Work is a virtue. The earlier in life kids learn that lesson, the better for them and for the rest of us.

Fall is a special time to honor our Service Members & Veterans who have sacrificed everything for the benefit of our Nation. HUNTER: Do Something About Prices, Republicans, Or You’re Going to Lose

Republicans and the White House can’t convince people that things could be worse just because of what Democrats would do does not override what is, even if it’s true. Some form of affordability is the top issue in every poll – and if they don’t address that, nothing else will matter. Then things will get exponentially worse. Reinstalling the people who caused a problem is never the key to fixing it, and Socialist-Democrats won’t care about making things worse.

Here's What’s Really Driving Your Electricity Bill Higher — and It’s Not AI

As a recent Washington Post investigation found, “U.S. utilities haven’t been on top of replacing power poles and lines in the past, and are now trying to catch up.” That catch-up is proving expensive — and the costs are being passed directly onto consumers. In fact, over the past two decades, while the cost of power generation has fallen by about 35%, the costs of transmitting that electricity across an aging grid have nearly tripled, and distribution costs have more than doubled. These infrastructure shortfalls are what’s really driving up Electricity Bills.
