Governor Greg Abbott rang the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) yesterday in celebration of the launch of NYSE Texas in Arlington. The Governor was joined by United States Treasurer Brandon Beach, NYSE Group President Lynn Martin, NYSE Texas President Bryan Daniel, Intercontinental Exchange Founder, Chair, and CEO Jeff Sprecher, and other NYSE Group members and business leaders.
Congressman Gonzales has reintroduced the Protect the Permian Act in the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation, first introduced in September of last year, will increase criminal penalties for stealing, transporting, or selling stolen oil and oilfield-related equipment. It also formally establishes and supports an FBI-led task force to combat oilfield theft and expands federal resources to law enforcement agencies that assist with combating oilfield crime.
This spring, HPS-CTX was named a 2025 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished District—the only public school district in Texas and one of just 28 nationwide to earn this honor out of 3,500+. PLTW is a national nonprofit that brings hands-on learning in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. This recognition highlights our commitment to giving all students access to high-quality, future-ready learning.
At this point in his second term, President Donald Trump has higher approval ratings than Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama in their second terms. According to the Real Clear Politics average of presidential approval polls, Trump, on Aug. 13, 2025, had a rating of 45.8%. G.W. Bush on Aug. 13, 2005, registered a 43.2% rating. Obama, on Aug. 13, 2013, stood at 43.8%.
This wasn’t just about removing Donald Trump from the White House. It was about removing the possibility of any future president like him – a populist, an untamed nationalist, and most importantly, an unapproved winner from outside the Democrat Elite. It was a coordinated operation to reverse the outcome of a Presidential Election – using the organs of the state, the megaphone of the press, and the cowardice of the courts. And now, the receipts are in. The Russia Collusion and Democrat lies created and repeated by the Swamp are collapsing.
The Texas hemp industry represents everything the current state-sanctioned medical marijuana monopoly fears – Competition, Innovation, Affordability, and Consumer Choice. Marijuana is a "Schedule I Controlled Substance" under Federal Law, and requires a physician’s prescription to use. Hemp is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, and is widely used by Veterans and health consumers as a regulated food or supplement. The products are vastly different, and saying otherwise shamefully misleads the public and is medically dishonest.
Governor Greg Abbott today celebrated Texas as the No. 1 state for jobs added over the last 12 months following the release of July employment data by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Texas added 232,500 nonfarm jobs from July 2024 to July 2025, more than any other state and outpacing the U.S. annual growth rate. On Friday, Governor Abbott announced Texas also set new records for total nonfarm jobs and the number of Texans working.
For years, liberal soft-on-crime policies have devastated countless innocent families and individuals in our Nation’s Capital. I commend President Trump’s bold action in using his authorities to crack down on rampant crime and lawlessness in Washington, D.C., and to make the city safe again. Congress must support these efforts and stand ready to utilize our clear Constitutional Authority over D.C. if greater action is necessary to restore public safety.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement today, applauding the Texas Senate for advancing the majority of Second Special Session Bills on Gov. Abbott’s call. The four remaining bills that have not yet passed the Senate will begin in the House and then proceed to the Senate. These bills are SB 4: Redistricting, SB 7: Protecting Unborn Children, SB 9: Eliminating the STAAR Test, and SB 17: State Judicial Omnibus Package.
Recently – and quite rightly – President Trump posted in part on Truth Social: “I’ve settled 6 Wars in 6 months, one of them a possible Nuclear disaster, and yet I have to read & listen to the Wall Street Journal, and many other who truly don’t have a clue, tell me everything that I am doing wrong on the Russia/Ukraine MESS, that is Sleepy Joe Biden’s war, not mine. I’m only here to stop it, not to prosecute it any further. It would have NEVER happened if I was President…”
“By removing barriers and streamlining regulations, we'll improve childcare availability and expand access for Texas parents. These bipartisan laws are our next step toward establishing affordable, quality childcare for Texans," said Gov. Abbott, signing House Bill 117 and House Bill 4903 into law at the Texas Capitol to simplify childcare regulations and improve Childcare & Early Learning Programs in Texas.
Texas House Democrats abandoned the Lone Star State to block redistricting by denying a quorum – stalling the process in the Texas State House of Representatives. They fled Texas, broke quorum, and soon faced serious repercussions from Gov. Abbott and Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows. The House Democrats’ actions may be at the top of the list of utter, complete nonsense and hypocrisy.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy met with President Trump and European leaders in the Oval Office yesterday, and at the same time Mr. Trump projected American strength by stationing B-2 Bombers in Alaska – the same aircraft that eliminated Iran's nuclear operation. Even Putin has admitted the war would never have started if Mr. Trump were in office. Once again, the president's proving that lasting peace is achieved... through strength.
Drill Baby Drill is working. Under Joe Biden, U.S. Oil & Gas Production was driven not by pro-energy policies – but by high crude oil prices. Crude was over $100 a barrel in 2022, and generally ranged between $70-$85 for the rest of his term. Those prices would have pushed production higher, had it not been for Biden's anti-fossil fuels climate policies. Now, the latest forecasts are that gas prices will keep falling through next year.
Democrats are not good at getting things done, but still manage to do a lot. Most of what they do is standing in the way of getting things done, and while they’d like to portray themselves as the Chinese man standing up to the tanks in Tiananmen Square, ideologically they are more in line with the guys driving those tanks. Over the last 7 days, Democrats have packed in a lot of stupid. It’s almost a skill, really, as people with high or even average intelligence would have difficulty finding so many new and creative ways to be idiots.
Governor Greg Abbott and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $750 million in a new Domestic Sterile Screwworm Production Facility to combat the northward spread of the New World screwworm (NWS) and protect American livestock producers. The new $750 million facility is set to be built in Edinburg, Texas, to sterilize New World screwworm flies and prevent their reproduction.
"You had several members of Congress, Democrat Members of Congress I might add, who were carjacked & assaulted in their own apartment buildings," said Cong. Byron Donalds, discussing his H.R. 4922 "The D.C. CRIMES Act" to help President Trump's crackdown on crime in D.C. make D.C. safe again. "You can't have a great society, a great city, or a great state if you don’t have law and order and public safety first and foremost," said Donalds.
Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) joined United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary, Brooke Rollins, and Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas) in Austin to announce the USDA’s commitment to fund and build a domestic sterile fly production facility to enhance New World screwworm (NWS) containment and eradication efforts. The NWS is a devastating pest that causes serious and often deadly damage to livestock, wildlife, pets, and in rare cases, humans.
