Governor Greg Abbott today updated the state’s list of prohibited technologies for State Employees and devices. Done in consultation with Texas Cyber Command Chief, Vice Admiral TJ White (USN, Ret.), here's the list of technologies added to the prohibited technology list, including additional restrictions on hardware, AI, and software affiliated with China and the Chinese Communist Party.
“This partnership between the U.S. Dept. of Commerce and USA Rare Earth will help break China’s hold on rare earth minerals, strengthen our national security, and create jobs here in Texas – and this $1.6 billion investment signifies the Trump Admin’s commitment to bolstering mine-to-magnet production within the U.S.,” said Texas GLO Comm. Dawn Buckingham of the Round Top Mountain location.
Minnesota has always been an odd, progressive political animal – even a little bit loony; the Common Loon is the State Bird – and Leftist Politics have had a home there longer than most realize. The last time the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" actually voted to elect a Republican president was 1972 when Richard Nixon won a 49-state victory. But Republicans are close to taking back power, and a victory there would deliver a huge blow to Democrat power across the country.
Americans sent us here to fix Washington — and this is what it looks like. The naysayers said it couldn’t be done, but they were wrong. With this vote, the House completed all 12 Appropriations Bills through "Regular Order" for the first time in years – and funds the Federal Government at lower levels than a Continuing Resolution while replacing massive Biden-era spending with Trump-era policies.
Gov. Greg Abbott has selected Lindsey Gohlke, and reappointed Romey Swanson to the Farm & Ranch Lands Conservation Council, and named Peter J. Holt chair and appointed Jeff Austin, III, Leslie Callahan, Lori Gabbert Charney, Grant Coates, Reagan Curran, Tracy Hanson, Marisela Nava, John Puckett, Jennifer Stockemer and Nancy Windham to the Task Force on Early Childhood Education & Care.
Last week I voted for legislation that advances a transparent, constitutional approach to federal spending – while providing stability for the American people. This reflects a deliberate process that respects Congress’s federal spending responsibility. Passing all 12 full-year appropriations bills through "regular order" provides greater accountability, predictability, and certainty for Families & Businesses.
Last week, I voted to pass the final set of FY26 Appropriations Bills and penned an op-ed to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of President Trump's historic 2nd term by highlighting his successful Border Policies. Gone are the days of 100s of 1,000s of illegal immigrants flooding our borders and overwhelming the U.S. Border Patrol. Now if we can only put American safety first, and restore Law & Order.
For those tracking the chaos in Minnesota, here’s a detail that might shed some light on the brazen lawlessness of its State Officials – like the Attorney General. To qualify to be Attorney General of Minnesota, you must be: 1.) A Qualified Voter, 2.) At least 21, and 3.) A resident of the state for at least 30 days. In Minnesota, you don’t have to be a lawyer — or even know the law — to be Attorney General. That helps explain Keith Ellison.
The CEOs of the health insurance industry's giants testify today on Capitol Hill. These are companies whose stocks have skyrocketed – thanks to a massive & continuous flood of subsidies from taxpayers under Barack Obama's “Affordable Care Act.” Most Americans say health care has become more expensive and more frustrating to access than ever... the exact opposite of what ObamaCare and its backers promised.
Governor Greg Abbott today provided an update on Texas’ ongoing response to severe winter weather expected to impact large portions of the state this weekend following a briefing with state officials at the State Operations Center in Austin. The Governor also issued a disaster declaration for 134 counties to ensure that every necessary resource is made available to Texans.
As the House of Representatives passed all of the Federal Government's remaining Annual Funding Bills to keep the federal government fully operational through the end of Fiscal Year 2026, Cong. Tony Gonzales – through his hard work and seat on the powerful House Appropriations Committee – has secured over $42 million in funding for his TX-23 South & West Texas District. Here's a partial list.
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is currently accepting applications to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Purchasing from People with Disabilities Program, also known as the Works Wonders Program. The committee is made up of 13 members who advise TWC on matters relating to the Works Wonders program, which assists individuals with disabilities in achieving independence through productive employment.
Well, apparently President Trump has some valid points on Greenland. It sits astride Missile, Drone & Air Transport Routes between North America and Eastern Europe – and Western Russia. Such facts are why worldwide leaders dealing with American presidents since at least FDR have felt duty-bound to cater to each's personal styles (Roosevelt's was condescension, LBJ's domineering) despite personal distastes.
Every other industry that markets its products to children is subject to safety standards – and technology should be no different. That principle is why a bill before Congress, the "App Store Accountability Act," matters so much to parents. Parents want industry transparency and the ability to guide their kids safely as technology evolves, and at "Talk More. Tech Less." we too often see the consequences when families don’t have that opportunity.
The U.S. House Oversight & Government Reform Committee voted to advance the William J. Clinton "Contempt of Congress Report" out of committee by a 34-8 vote, and the Hillary R. Clinton contempt report on a vote of 28-15. Both now move to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives for consideration. Upon passage on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, criminal referrals will be made to the U.S. Department of Justice.
"These packages are pouring in faster and further than ever before – they may look innocent, but the danger is real. One invasive species, pest, or pathogen could devastate Texas farms, ranches, natural resources and food supply. We can't gamble with Texas agriculture," warned Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller. Here's the details, and what the Texas Dept. of Agriculture recommends to do if you receive unsolicited seeds.
American politics rarely focuses on K–12 Education, and the reason is obvious. Students can't vote, they have no direct voice in national debates, and Elected Officials tend to prioritize issues with immediate political payoffs. But President Trump has taken a far different approach. During his first year back in office, he's reshaped American Education by shifting authority away from bureaucracy – and into the hands of families.
The Governor was joined by State Senator Donna Campbell, Texas Rep. Alan Schoolcraft, Chairman Peter J. Holt, Texas Workforce Commission Chairman Joe Esparza, Rep. Mark LaHood, Rep. John Lujan, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Superintendent Paige Meloni, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath, and Texas Health & Human Services Executive Commissioner Stephanie Muth.
