Nolan Ryan Pitches Support For Todd Staples, Chairs Ag Commissioner’s Campaign Finance Team

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Legend and Pro Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan has pitched his support for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Todd Staples by agreeing to serve as Chairman of the Texans for Todd Staples Campaign Finance Committee. “Todd Staples has delivered time & again for the agriculture community, and I am proud to be part of his winning team for this election,” Ryan said.

In addition to his Hall of Fame major league career, Ryan is a long time Texas rancher and leader in the agriculture community.

“As a former major league pitcher, I know the importance of having your ace on the mound who can deliver in the clutch and be a team leader.

Staples was elected to serve as Commissioner of Agriculture in 2006, and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives and in the Texas Senate.

As Agriculture Commissioner, Todd has fought to protect land owner rights, bring job creation to rural Texas, further the promotion of Texas products around the world through the GO TEXAN program and helps farmers and ranchers face tomorrow’s challenges through the use of new technologies and value-added processing.

“Whether it’s pitching strikes or pitching for Texas agriculture, Nolan Ryan is a true Texas legend whose contributions and leadership to our state and industry are countless,” said Staples.

“I am honored to have Nolan on our team as we campaign for a second term.”

I would be MUCH more impressed if this article was about the qualifications of Todd Staples than a endorsement by a baseball pitcher.
POLITICIANS in both parties would be well advised to start treating voters as intelligent concerned individuals than star stuck juveniles.
There is a new grassroots wildfire burning across TEXAS and it has NO RESPECT for people that are afraid to run on their record NOT their FRIENDS.

So his endorsements are “questionable”.
