Democrats Pressured on Immigration
Ambreen Ali, Congress.org
Report points to 40 districts where Latino voters matter.
Democrats may lose a key voting bloc if they don’t act on immigration, advocates say.
On Monday, three groups that want Congress to overhaul immigration are holding a joint press conference on Capitol Hill to release “The Power of the Latino Voter in America.”
America’s Voice, National Council of La Raza, and the Service Employees International United have all been vocal proponents of a comprehensive immigration bill.
The report is expected to highlight 40 election districts where Latino voters could make a difference this fall.
It also evaluates “the role of immigration reform in determining voter participation and candidate preference” in midterm elections, the groups wrote in a carefully worded press release.
The pressure comes as Democrats reevaluatetheir political priorities and try to keep the focus on jobs.

The Democrats need to keep their focus on American jobs and quit catering to illegal aliens. I believe Obamas focus is to give amenesty to 12 million or more illegal aliens to broaden the Democratic voting base. What is really sad is the lawmakers who make the law don’t obey the laws they make and took an oath to uphold. They pick and choose which laws to obey. Janet Napolitano even said that crossing the border is not against the law per se. These idiots are all in a different world than the average American citizen and need to be impeached or voted out of office.

The only thing Obama is concerned about (other than himself) is his agenda, and getting votes to get his progressive Congress re-elected! He couldn’t care less who or what it hurts along the way! We must remain vigilant and focus on getting the right people in office in the November election! We can expect the worst and hope for the best, but we have to keep up the fight to take our country back and put it back on the right road! Let’s do it in 2010 and 2012! God bless America!

All you democrats reading this please realize, LATINOS ARE PRO-LIFE and are traditionally against abortion because of their strong Catholic and Protestant heritage. We Christians and conservatives need to remind them of their roots and love for traditional family values. You democrats won’t get their votes if we do our part. I know, they are more than a one-issue voting block, but Latinos are passionate about the abortion issue.

A lot of factors contribute to why we have, continue to allow, and continue to invite more illegal aliens into this country. Cheap labor, bleeding hearts feeling sorry for people who have bad diggs in their own lands, and sheer stupidity are what led us to the crisis point we have today. Laziness and refusal to enforce the law are the reason they are still here. Nobody knows what to do so they do nothing. It’s been going on since Reagan decided that first bunch should be allowed “amnesty.” Then it was Cubans, then Haitians, then people from earthquake zones in South America, then Africans from war torn nations, then Moslems from war torn nations, then………
And when civil war breaks out they will all sit around scratching their heads wondering what happened.

“The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), also Simpson-Mazzoli Act (Pub.L. 99-603, 100 Stat. 3359, signed by President Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986) is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law. The Act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants (immigrants who do not possess lawful work authorization), required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status, and granted amnesty to certain illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously. The Act also granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982.”
“Regan signed the Bill. The Bill was an act of CONGRESS. The law criminalized the act of knowingly hiring an illegal immigrant and established financial and other penalties for those employing illegal aliens under the theory that low prospects for employment would reduce illegal immigration. It introduced the I-9 form to ensure that all employees presented documentary proof of their legal eligibility to accept employment in the United States.”

LIKE every OTHER law passed by CONGRESS………………………..failure to enforce the intention of the law (which was to criminalized the act of knowingly hiring an illegal immigrant and established financial and other penalties for those employing illegal aliens under the theory that low prospects for employment would reduce illegal immigration.) is the problem.
Congress is REALLY good at passing laws and then keeping them from being enforced.
THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE of why WE need to STOP all this “LEGISLATION” currently being attempted by the CONGRESS.
IT IS REPRESENTED as ONE THING and is in FACT something completely different.
