Young Conservatives of Texas Announce 2010 Primary Endorsements

YTClogo(Austin, TX) The Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), the most active youth organization in the state of Texas, with 30 years of activism and campaign experience, announce their endorsements for the 2010 primary cycle.

“These candidates are the proven conservative leaders of the state” said Laura Elizabeth Morales, YCT Senior Vice Chairman.  “The Young Conservatives of Texas are proud to support this outstanding group of candidates.”

YCT currently boasts a half-dozen members or alumni in the legislature, as well as having elected two of its own to the U.S. Congress.  The endorsement process involves research, interviews and voting by a committee of members.

“These candidates were selected after extensive research, including personal interviews, research into their past legislative ratings and detailed questionnaires,” said Tony McDonald, Vice Chairman of Legislative Affairs.

YCT, which was founded in 1980, issues the most recognized ratings of the state legislature and is the only conservative group to have done so without interruption over the last 15 sessions.  Utilizing this experience, YCT has selected candidates who will be effective legislators and who will promote conservative values in their respective offices.

It appears that Debra Medina was not Republican enough to get their nod. She seems to be conservative enough. I still haven’t determined for whom I’ll vote in the governor’s race.

I can understand YCT rating elected officials on their voting record based on Conservative criteria.
I CANNOT understand why VOTERS would accept the recommendation of this group without having access to the criteria and information considered.

AS I have STATED many times before IT is the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of each individual voter to
do extensive research for themselves.
Each individual VOTER has different issues that are more or less important to them.
DO NOT allow anyone to make a decision for you.
YES that most certainly includes me.

I have published this before and would suggest everyone take the time to develop a list of your own.
FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH
by CWJensen
This is what I expect from an individual that wants to REPRESENT ME.
1.Understand I believe in GOD……………………………and expect you do also.
2.I want it understood that GOD will be acknowledged in public places, on my currency, and especially in my nation’s capital.
3.I expect that ALL individuals follow the laws of this land and are held accountable when they do not.
4.I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN. If I want to celebrate a Nationality other than AMERICAN, I should have stayed there.
5.That representatives are just that. They were NOT elected to be self righteous arrogant self serving elitists that ignore the will of those that elect them.
6.It’s my money you’re spending. DO NOT use it to buy favors or votes.
7.If you want a raise, ask me for it. You work for me. If you earn it, you’ll get it. If you didn’t, expect to be unemployed next election.
8.What ever you give yourselves ,I expect the same. Since you work for me that’s only fair.
9.When you promise you will do something I EXPECT you to DO it.
10.When you send me, my, wife, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter to some god forsaken country to fight, it will be to WIN and you will LISTEN to and SUPPORT those Military Commanders who EARNED the RIGHT to make decisions.
11.Instead of running around the WORLD, when Congress is NOT in session, you will be back HOME listening to what the folks that you work for have to say.
12.If the folks at home are NOT WORKING, you sure as HELL should NOT be giving away their money to those who never looked for work.
13.Use some good old fashion common sense and STOP listening to the lobbyists who earn damn good money selling you something you DO NOT NEED.
14.Do NOT even THINK about GIVING AMNESTY to Illegal Immigrants for ANY REASON.
15.Finally, never FORGET, some DAMN SMART people knew the day would come WHEN I would need to DEFEND myself against a TYRANNICAL government so they wrote the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution ………………I am armed and READY just in case you FORGET.

It is really surprising that YCT is endorsing Rick Perry. I was a Rick Perry supporter. But after the last debate, it was very clear who the true conservative in the gubernatorial race really was. That person was Debra Medina.

Absolutely NOT.
I have been monitoring the CP for over a year.
You do NOT build a NEW party by trying to destroy another.
You want to get recognition find a FIRST CLASS candidates and be able to compete on YOUR ISSUES.
We have been fighting the fight long before you had a website.
Thanks for the invite but MO has a real kick ass website and I still am NOT impressed.

Not even all candiates were considered or interviewed or asked to fill out a questionaire. Plus when Congresswoman Kay Granger is not endorsed and YCT endorses somebody who does not have a prayer – you realize how silly these dorks really are and how silly this organization is.

YCT should hang up this political charade of a club and head to Florida and sign up for Clown School at Ringling Bros. That would be more credible.

AS YOU ALL KNOW I URGED EVERYONE TO CONTACT OUR SENATORS ABOUT VOTIG AGAINST BEN BERNANKE

I believe all good deeds should be recognized:
Dear Friend:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the nomination of Mr. Ben Bernanke to serve a second term as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. I welcome your thoughts and comments.

As a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, I voted against the nomination of Ben Bernanke to continue to serve as Chairman. I opposed Mr. Bernanke’s nomination for two primary reasons. First, I have been very disappointed by the mishandling of the Troubled Asset Relief Program, which Chairman Bernanke supported. Second, I am very concerned by the insufficient interest the Federal Reserve has shown in our nation’s excessive spending and mounting debt.

In December 2007, our nation’s economy entered into a recession, during which home foreclosures soared and our credit markets froze temporarily. This wreaked havoc on the bottom lines of businesses, large and small, leading to mounting job losses. By September 2008, numerous financial institutions had failed, creating volatility and uncertainty across our broader economy.

At the time, Chairman Bernanke explained that we were facing the most severe financial crisis in the post-World War II era, and came before Congress to press for a program to stabilize our financial system. In response to these events, Congress passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, which authorized $700 billion in federal assistance to create the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to bolster the financial sector.

The TARP was originally conceived to purchase “toxic assets” from banks in order to encourage these financial institutions to begin lending again. However, upon its creation, the Treasury Department immediately diverted from this intent, purchasing equity stakes in more than 300 financial institutions, and providing loans to several non-financial institutions, including General Motors, Chrysler, and American International Group (AIG).

I voted against the release of additional TARP funds because I disagreed with the decision to abandon the legislative intent of the program to reinvigorate the frozen credit markets by purchasing “toxic assets” from financial firms that were unhealthy and at risk of failing. Unfortunately, the resolution failed to receive enough votes to stop the second round of funding, and the TARP remains in effect as a result of the Treasury Department’s recent decision to extend it until October 3, 2010.

It is estimated that rather than paying down the debt as originally intended, the TARP is expected to lose $141 billion in taxpayer dollars. This huge loss to the taxpayers, on top of a $1 trillion Omnibus Appropriations bill that only funded our government operations through October 1, 2009, and the $787 billion Stimulus bill that has not stimulated the economy, have all contributed to the federal government’s record $1.4 trillion budget deficit in 2009.

Our debt recently reached its $12.1 trillion limit, forcing the Congress to raise the debt ceiling another $290 billion to $12.394 trillion. On December 24, 2009, I voted to oppose this increase because I am deeply concerned by the impact this massive spending will have on our economy. Under Chairman Bernanke’s leadership, I do not believe the Fed has paid enough attention to our mounting debt and the immense burden it will place on our children and grandchildren.

On December 17, 2009, over my opposition, the Banking Committee approved the nomination of Mr. Ben Bernanke to serve a second term as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. His nomination has now been sent to the full Senate for consideration.

I appreciate hearing from you. Please do not hesitate to contact me on any issue that is important to you.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison

Goodwater, I’m an Independent now that I’ve left the Republicrat Party. I’ve had the Constitution Party on my radar screen for about four years. I’ve had dialogue through emails and on the phone with the chairman of the CP in the greater Houston area. I adore their party platform and how Christian they are. What concerns me about them is that they don’t seem to attract any candidates that can win. I wish Ron Paul, Tom Coburn, Marco Rubio, Doug Hoffman and Jim DeMint would join the Constitution Party. If they ever field a good candidate, and that candidate is Christian and conservative, then they’ll get my vote. For now, I’m voting for the person and don’t care which label they have on them as long as they meet my criteria for a public servant.

There are various groups about that have made the vetting of candidates their primary mission and I believe the could benefit from the common sense and forthrightness exhibited by Mr. C.W. Jensen. His above listed statement for finding the candidates of his choice sure hits home when it comes to what matters. I liked it so much that I put it into a blog that you can view at http://icaucus.ning.com/profiles/blogs/his-list-for-vetting . I believe they could benefit if Mr. Jensen was on board. Also, I’m going to save mr. Jensens list in my civics notes on my computer. Thank you Sir.

Most of the people on this website are constantly saying, “I’m tired of career politicians.” “We need term limits.” I have to admit I’m one of them. So if those are your views, I challenge all of you, myself included, to think seriously about the following facts and be consistant and faithful to your convictions. I know, we all make exceptions and that is our perrogative.

Rick Perry: served in Texas Hous of Representatives 6 years
served as Agricultural Commissioner 8 years
served as Lt. Governor 2 years
served as Governor 10 years
__________
26 years of public service=career politician

Those who vote for Mr. Rick Perry, I hope don’t have voter’s regret. May the Lord help us all in this difficult choice. I’m leaning towards Debra Medina because of the above and my convictions.

Debra Medina is who we NEED in Texas. Perry is an Out of Touch Politician and Hutchinson is a RINO.
Debra will eliminate Property taxes, Protect our 2nd Amendment rights and deal with the illegal immigration problem. Perry has done
1. nothing to stop illegals from getting FREE medical care causing our health care costs to rise,
2. nothing to stop illegals from getting FREE education causing or schools much hardship and dumbing down OUR kids
3. nothing to stop illegals from getting JOBS that unemployed Americans need.
4. nothing to stop our property taxes from going up Mine are $3,500 a year. I will never truly own my property as long as I have to pay property taxes on it. Just stop paying your property tax and see who owns it then.

I voted for him last time and today WE HAVE A BETTER CHOICE——DEBRA MEDINA.
She is one of us.
