Under the direction of the Governor, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), in collaboration with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), will further implement anti-fraud measures and launch investigations into any potential fraud and misdirection of Texas taxpayer dollars.
We noted yesterday that under the left’s hero, Nicolas Maduro, 80% of Venezuela's citizens have fallen into poverty, and nearly half are in extreme poverty. Oil production has crashed, and none of the revenues have enriched the citizens. Maduro no doubt is in line to win the Nobel Peace Prize. To help alleviate poverty and get the oil industry up and running, the newly elected government should reprivatize the oil industry.
Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.3 billion in December 2025, 5.7 percent more than in December 2024. The majority of December sales tax revenue is based on sales made in November and remitted to the agency in December. Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in December 2025 was up 5.2 percent compared with the same period a year ago. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 58 percent of all tax collections.
Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), alongside U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-Texas), Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), and Congresswoman Julie Johnson (D-Texas), introduced bipartisan legislation to modernize infrastructure at U.S. land ports of entry (LPOEs) and in the surrounding communities that support them. The Strong Borders, Strong Communities Act would create the first dedicated funding stream for the construction and modernization of land port of entry-related infrastructure to enhance border security.
Venezuelans are celebrating in the streets of Caracas and around the world after U.S. forces staged a flawless removal of brutal dictator and narco-trafficker Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Not celebrating are most congressional Democrats, a few Republicans, and the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, whose foreign policy credentials are akin to dining at the International House of Pancakes.
For months, President Donald J. Trump was unmistakably clear that the United States would use every element of American power to stop deadly drugs from pouring into our country and to hold those responsible fully accountable. He warned repeatedly that Nicolás Maduro and his illegitimate regime had inflicted enormous harm on the United States, and that all options were on the table. He now joins a long list of adversaries who learned that President Trump means exactly what he says.

Greg Abbott has released an extensive list of highlights & strides the Lone Star State made in 2025 to put Texas on the pathway to be No. 1 in education - and empower parents to choose the education opportunities they feel are best for their children. “The Venezuelan regime has for decades posed an acute threat to the National Security of the United States and the Safety & Security of Americans - and Nicolás Maduro was a corrupt dictator and thug who systematically oppressed the people of Venezuela and threatened America and our allies. Domestically he was straightforwardly illegitimate. Internationally he supported American enemies across the globe... Islamist terrorists and narco-terrorists."
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Miller: "The Farmer Bridge Assistance Program provides clear payment rates and fast assistance producers can count on as they plan for the 2026 growing season. I applaud President Trump and Secretary Rollins for putting farmers first, restoring certainty to the farm economy, and strengthening the farm safety net. These bridge payments will help Texas producers stay afloat and continue feeding and clothing our nation.”
There is a lie socialism always tells before it tells the truth. The lie is that it is warm. That it is compassionate. That it cares more deeply, feels more tenderly, and governs more humanely than any system rooted in individual liberty. It promises cradle-to-grave security, shared sacrifice, and moral superiority—all in exchange for a little freedom here, a little property there, and eventually, your independence altogether. The truth comes later. It always does.
Highlighting Texas' booming energy industry as the nation's leader in energy production, Gov. Greg Abbott is touting how the Lone Star State is powering America's economy and leading the nation's investment in advancing nuclear energy as well. "This year Texas took a magnificent step in becoming the headquarters of the American Nuclear Renaissance," said Abbott.
U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and John Kennedy (R-LA) are pressing Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to have President Trump pressure the European Union to repeal the European Union Methane Regulation (EUMR) - for good reason.
"From racing, to recreation & rodeos, the equine industry is a notable economic driver, adding $177 billion annually to the national economy. In Texas alone the horse population is more than 748,000, the largest of any state, and the industry contributes some $6.5 billion to the state's economy," said Cong. Gonzales, drawing attention to the highly contagious Equine Herpesvirus (EHV).
I've been shocked that Americans are in such a grumpy mood, as reflected in all the public opinion polls. At the same time we have Peace & Prosperity, including more income, more wealth, more of almost everything that we want to buy (yes, except for housing), Americans seem to think we have an "affordability crisis." This year, in just 2025, the Median Household Income in the U.S. has risen to more than $86,000 a year – an all-time high. And there's actually much more here to celebrate.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate passed the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Did you know that Human Trafficking Sweeps during the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston led to the arrests of 750 individuals, including solicitors and human traffickers? As chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee's "Task Force on Enhancing Security for Special Events in the United States," I'm committed to ensuring the mass gatherings on America's soil — from the FIFA World Cup to the 2028 Olympics — are safe and fun for all. Unfortunately, these events provide a backdrop for Criminal Activity.
As we celebrate the Holiday Season, we are reminded of the greatest gift ever given, the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As the Gospel of Luke proclaims, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11) Christmas invites us to pause and reflect on God’s grace, His love, and the promise of hope fulfilled in Bethlehem.
