State Sen. Buckingham Joins Abbott, Trump, Texas Law Enforcement Officials in Rio Grande Valley Tour

"If the Federal Government's going to ignore its duty to secure our border, Texas will do their job for them.”

AUSTIN, Texas (Texas Insider Report) — "Conservatives must stand up to the Biden Administration and demand the wall be completed to stave off the tide of illegal immigration and Drug & Sex Trafficking entering our state and our country. Governor Abbott's made it clear – if the Federal Government's going to ignore its duty to secure our border, Texas will do their job for them,” said State Sen. Dawn Buckingham while travelling to join former President Trump, Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Texas Law Enforcement Officials (at right,) during their visit and tour of the Rio Grande Valley Border Sector along the Texas-Mexico Border.

Following the Wednesday, June 30th Border Briefing and Tour, Sen. Buckingham will attend a FOX News Town Hall hosted by Sean Hannity featuring President Trump.

The immigration crisis has continued its rapid increase despite Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent visit to the border City of El Paso last week, a trip she scheduled shortly after Trump announced he planned to see the crisis firsthand with Gov. Abbott and other Border Officials.

President Biden and Vice President Harris continue to maintain that they are focused on addressing the "root causes" of the immigration crisis at the nation's southern Border, but policy decisions suggest otherwise.

During Biden's first day in office he signed Executive Orders to abolished building the Border Wall, and has subsequently brought back President Barack Obama's "Catch & Release" program which allows illegal immigrants to remain in the United States while their immigration case proceeds – a process which now averages over 50 months to be heard.

Biden has also recently abolished Trump's successful "Stay in Mexico" program, which returned illegal immigrants to Mexico while those cases were waiting to be heard.

“President Biden’s border crisis is a self-inflicted disaster for our nation, and I’m glad to be one of the few statewide leaders to join President Trump and Governor Abbott to examine where progress can be made towards completing President Trump’s border wall," Buckingham said.

Gov. Abbott announced earlier this month that – absent any action by the Biden Administration to address the crises at the border – Texas would begin building its own border wall, and his state-level Execituve Orders signed earlier this week will surge additional resources to 28 Texas Border Counties in order to assist them in their fight against the disasterous immigration influx.
