Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement on his new legislation, H.Res. 1183, denouncing the acts of domestic terrorism being committed by pro-abortion extremists. The legislation also urges the Department of Justice to swiftly prosecute the groups and individuals engaging in these violent crimes and calls on the Biden administration to protect organizations supporting expectant mothers.
“The DOJ’s busy likening concerned parents to domestic terrorists instead of prosecuting pro-abortion anarchists who are, by the FBI’s very definition, engaging in domestic terrorism,” said Rep. Babin. “The Democrats are silent about this violence, and the DOJ is ignoring it. We must enforce our laws and protect the organizations being terrorized by these anti-life extremists.”
“Pro-life organizations and religious institutions have been attacked, firebombed, and vandalized since the leak of a draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade,” said Rep. Ken Buck (CO-04). “These unprecedented political attacks are unconscionable and have no place in American society. If the Biden DOJ cares about protecting our communities, they will stop ignoring violence that doesn’t suit their agenda and defend the organizations these pro-abortion extremists seek to destroy.”
“Pregnancy centers across the nation, primarily staffed by volunteers, have saved more than 800,000 lives since 2016 by lovingly providing support and encouragement for women and their children,” said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA Pro-Life America’s vice president of government affairs. “We thank Rep. Babin and his pro-life colleagues for standing with them. The recent rash of attacks on pregnancy centers, maternity homes, and other pro-life organizations is abhorrent and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
