Rep. Ron Simmmons: On How the Texas House Made the Sanctuary Cities Bill Tougher

Texas Conservative Coalition initiatives moving through State House

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas — I’m not sure who thought the House wouldn’t bring up Sanctuary Cities, we passed a bill back in 2011 that ended up not getting out of the Senate, and its been well-known in the House that this would be a bill that we would pass this Session,” State Rep. Ron Simmons tells Insiders Jim Cardle.

“So we took this very seriously and for conservatives and for Republicans, this was an important issue to the Texas House,” said Simmons, who serves as Treasurer of the Texas Conservative Coalition, one of the most important State Legislative organizations in the Capitol.
