Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – “These pension negotiations have exemplified Texas’ leadership through the hard decisions that have been made by courageous Texans,” said Chairman of the House Pensions Committee Dan Flynn. “It was not easy to bring all the groups together, but what was important is that they did come together and worked to unify the city of Dallas,” Flynn said.
Thursday afternoon Senator Royce West (D-Dallas), Senator Don Huffines (D-Dallas), House Pensions Committee Chairman Dan Flynn (R-Van,) as well as the Dallas Delegation announced the revised Dallas Pension Solution Bill that was sent over by the House just a few weeks prior. House Bill 3158 is authored by Chairman Flynn and sponsored by Senator West in the Senate.
“Texas is an innovative leader nationwide. We have deadlines to meet and things to get accomplished and I remain dedicated to the 10,000 police and fire plan members and their families,” said Chairman Flynn.
HB 3158 will go to the Senate floor for to be voted on once more in the upcoming week before heading back to the House.
