Abolish Hospital Districts from Performing Taxpayer Funded Abortions

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – On Monday March 15th, Representative Christian went before the Committee on State Affairs to present House Bill 561 that would abolish hospital districts from using tax revenue to finance the performance of abortions.

If passed, HB 561 will abolish a hospital district from using tax revenue to finance the performance of abortions.  Currently the Travis County Healthcare District, known as Central Health, is the only hospital district in Texas that spends taxpayer dollars on abortions.  Central Health spends $450,000 a year to fund abortions at Planned Parenthood and two other local abortion facilities in Travis County.

No other political subdivision (county, city, or healthcare district) in Texas, besides the Central Health of Travis County, funds elective abortions. Nor do the federal and state Medicaid programs.

Abortions are one of the most life changing decisions a woman can make and cannot be taken back. “It is important we do everything we can to ensure abortions are not funded by our tax dollars. We must make sure our tax dollars are used efficiently and for funding programs that will better our great State of Texas, not destroy innocent human life,” stated Rep. Christian.

Additionally, abortions should not be supported by money coming out of our pockets, especially since many taxpayers strongly oppose abortions. Our taxes must fund issues that are mandated by the voters and people of Texas. Rep. Christian said, “As your State Representative, it is my duty to confirm our tax dollars are spent sensibly and towards programs which protect our citizens.”

HB 561 is supported by numerous prolife organizations, including the Texas Catholic Conference, Texas Right to Life, Texas Alliance for Life and the Liberty Institute.

So easy for this “Christian” to kick the poor and downtrodden in the teeth!

Here’s a paraphrase of his quote for Cliff Notes fans:
“Hey sinful women, if you want to defy the almighty’s wishes by leaving the kitchen and getting knocked up, even if by rape, don’t expect sympathy from either the kingdom of man or the kingdom of heaven. Or you know, pay your own money, but if you don’t have any, then I guess you and your hell-spawn can just F$%^ off and die, which is really your best option in Texas. Amen.”

Mr (or Miss) Punt, You need to get one thing clear: We, the people who actually get off our butts and PRODUCE something are tired of having that money STOLEN to pay for things we find morally repugnant! WE, the taxpayers, should decide what our money goes to and not the poverty pimps that seem to dominate the left-wing liberocrats.

ENOUGH ALREADY! It’s time that people take responsibility for their own lives! Your poor choices are NOT my responsibility to pay for!

AMEN Greg
They have the RIGHT to Kill God’s Creation. I like the RAPE reference……………………….typical.
I feel those who commit murder or are willing accomplices should be prosecuted for premeditated
murder. It does NOT get clearer than that.
BTW
pnut you have the NUT part correct.

I find war morally repugnant, yet half of every tax dollar I pay goes there. Cry me a river.

You do not know every person’s circumstances in advance, and this type of legislation proves that the
Republican song of restricting government overreach is not uniform, and therefore ideologically motivated. You are not being objective, and the name calling is just sad.

If anyone gets raped, they should go down immediately and have a DNC then there would be no chance of having to get a abortion later,
