Conservatives Band Together to Start New Organization

Pledges to 5 core principals and to unite conservatives

Austin – On the eve of the “Tea Party” movement’s anniversary, conservative legislators in Texas have banded together to form a new organization – the Independent Conservative Republicans of Texas. With conservative voters organizing like never before to protest the unprecedented overreaching intrusion of the federal government, voters need to know there are Republican legislators who share their beliefs and will uphold their principals.

The group was founded on five core principles each member has committed to uphold:

• Stand for conservative principals and to put people before Party.

• Fiscally accountable, limit the size of government, and fight for free market principles.

• Protect our borders and to support a strong military.

• Protect life, support strong family values, and uphold the Judeo-Christian beliefs our nation was founded upon.

• Honor the Constitution and protect the sovereign rights of Texas.

“We are all proud members of the Republican Party and will remain so. However, this organization provides us with accountability outside of our political party,” the group’s founder Sen. Dan Patrick (R-Houston) remarked. “We recognize we are first and foremost accountable to the people who elected us. We have dedicated ourselves to these core principals and have said ‘this is who we are and this is how we will legislate,’” Sen. Patrick concluded.

“We’re joining together to say test us, try us, hold us accountable. We mean it when we pledge to defend limited government, individual liberties and free enterprise,” remarked Rep. Phil King (R-Weatherford).

“The voters placed their trust in us because we share their values and priorities, and we have a responsibility to govern according to those principles,” Sen. Jane Nelson (R-Lewisville) added.

“With increased awareness of the citizens expressing their desire to be involved, it is exciting to be a part of this movement to accept the challenge of bringing our state and nation back to the conservative, godly heritage of our founding fathers,” Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Van) offered.

“Dedication to America’s founding principles, through our commitment to civic awareness and responsibility, is what the Independent Conservative Republicans will follow as our course of action,” Sen. Florence Shapiro (R-Plano) observed.

The true spirit of this new ‘conservative’ organization will soon be revealed on what actions they will take to neutralize ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, National ID and other freedom limiting action of the current Administration.

Congratulations on unity albeit coming about very late in the scene we find ourselves in today. First job is to tackle every single Republican Senator and Congressman and Governor who’s shown capacity for wavering in supporting these principles either in voting or in lifestyle (think of the SC Governor right about now!) and make it clear that if they are going to continue to waver….everything’s done and over and that’s it! With out serious unity on the basics from our Party, the votes are going to be split between genuine and sincere conservatives towards professed candidates who’s history and lifestyle is backed up by their public stance and private life between the Tea Party and the Republican Party….and the Demos will demolish us and the future once and for all! You have my prayers and support. The Tea Party WILL support men and women of integrity in the next election and if the Republicans can’t offer the best, whoever does offer the best will get the vote.
Peace, George Mims

TALK IS CHEAP!
I have been calling Kelly Hancock and Perry’s office & campaign headquarters trying to get our (texas) guard on the border. I even asked Perry to call a special session if he didn’t want to take responsibility..all to no avail. They say it is a federal problem…I say the illegal aliens must be stopped, anyway anyhow! So what now…they are both supposedly conservatives!

Amnesty is “my issue” were are the conservatives that should be saying…..NO AMNESTY, ENFORCEMENT ONLY

@Lyn Canyon – I agree with you completely. And the statement that “they say it’s a Federal problem.” Scary truth! Intimidation has set in among our leaders in Texas, yet they preach all day long that they’re not going to put up with Washington invading our lives. Think I might move to Arizona just for the illegal immigration stance they’ve just passed. Way to go, Arizona! Now, come show Austin how it’s done…

I think the principles set forth by the new conservatives is a step in the right direction. I hope that others will be encouraged to join them. I , also, hope that if any member fails to measure up they will toss him out of the organization. Rules are meaningless unless enforced.

I know that we DO HAVE decent and honest men/women that can be elected to office and they need our support. Time will tell about their effectiveness, but we should write letters or call them and tell them that we support their efforts and will be watching.

Perhaps Texas Insider will monitor the group and give us report cards. I would love to see a list of their members, wouldn’t you?

As I said before our Republican Conservatives Texas Representatives in Washington are doing a much better job of representing the Conservatives in TEXAS than the Lame excuses we have in Austin.
You want to blame someone blame yourselves and all those RHINO’S serving themselves in AUSTIN.

If they are NOT 90% or better they need to rethink the Conservative label.

I am on the ballot as a Libertarian for Texas Senate District 8 and running against Senator Florence Shapiro. While I strongly support this initiative by these elected officials, I believe the time has come for us to begin sending regular people to Austin and Washington and not career politicians.

I hope those of you who read this will take a look at my site at http://electkless.com. If you have any questions or concerns about my positions, please email me. The address is on the site.

The Haircut

One day a florist went to a barber
for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, “I cannot accept money from you, I’m doing community service this week.”

The florist was pleased and left
the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a “thank you” card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, “I cannot
accept money from you, I’m doing community service this week.”

The cop was happy and left the shop.
The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a “thank you” card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, “I can
not accept money from you, I’m doing community service this week.”

The Congressman was very
happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friend, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

Ed: Since I could NOT find that e mail address:
National Platform of the Libertarian Party

Adopted in Convention, May 2008, Denver, Colorado
Preamble

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized.

Consequently, we defend each person’s right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power.

In the following pages we have set forth our basic principles and enumerated various policy stands derived from those principles.

These specific policies are not our goal, however. Our goal is nothing more nor less than a world set free in our lifetime, and it is to this end that we take these stands.

SOUNDS like PRO CHOICE on too many things for me……………………..Sorry I will NOT be voting for any Libertarian.

Why should I vote Republican? I sure as H#$$ won’t vote Demoncratic. I dislike the fear mongering by the Republicans when they say, “If you don’t vote for a Republican, then you’re electing a Democrat.” I was once a staunch Republican (30 years), but NO MORE. Most Republicrats campaign as conservatives and legislate as moderates or liberals. It remains to be seen how this new faction of Republicans will rule.

Have you all forgotten about Doug Hoffman. I supported him in the New York 23rd district election. He didn’t run on the Republican ticket and he almost won in the liberal state of New York. The Republicrats were supporting a liberal Republicrat, Dede Scozzafava. She eventually withdrew from the race and threw her support to Democrat Bill Owens. I never even heard of the party ticket on which Doug ran. He ran on the “Conservative Party” ticket. Many on this site have said, “Vote for the man/woman and not the party.” I wish the TRUE CONSERVATIVES would do what Doug Hoffman did. If a candidate is not a part of a major party, then they don’t own him/her once they are elected. The major parties contribute big dollars to candidates and then think they own that candidate’s loyalty. I’m sick of that aren’t all of you?
