9-12 Project, TEA Party & GRIT Working Together for Texas
By Bill Burch & Adrian Murray
This past Wednesday, G.R.I.T, along with leaders of the Fort Worth 9-12 Project and the Arlington 9-12 Project hosted a Christmas Party. The purpose was to bring together key figures from the 9-12 Projects, the Tea Parties, and the
Republican Party so they could get to know each other and initiate a dialogue. What occured during the get together was a bonding that may result in a major impact on Texas and America. The original idea for the Party came from Jane Burch, a GRIT Director and the SREC for Senate District 9, while having lunch with Adrian and Renee Murray. The idea soon took on a life of its own and ended with a bonding that will result in a major impact on Texas and America.
Most of those who attended had never met their counterparts in person. E-mails and the telephone were the principle means of communication between the leaders.
Adrian Murray of the Fort Worth 9-12 Project and Mel Moss of the Arlington 9-12 Project took on the task of getting the word out to the other 9-12 Project and Tea Party leaders. Bill and Jane Burch of the Grass Roots Institute of Texas assumed the responsibility of getting out the GRIT Board members and the Republican Leaders.
Roger Williams and Debra Medina were both in attendance and, although not allowed to give a speech, they received a lot of attention. There is no one in Texas who can work a crowd like Roger Williams, and the 80+ attendees loved him. Debra Medina had five people, including her husband, who helped her work the crowd and received very positive results.
Adrian Murray, in his address to the crowd, emphasized the need to keep the 9-12 Project & Tea Party groups separate from the Republican Party, but supportive of conservatives. His point was that there is no effective alternative and that splitting the vote between competing conservative candidates is unacceptable.
Murray said he believes the liberally minded-Democrats are unlikely to identify with their efforts, and that Republicans need a lot of work.
He also warned that if the Republican Party moved left or became too “moderate” it would lose this important bridge to its conservative base. But it is better to help fix the Republican Party than to try and start a third Party or support one of the minor Parties.
It is important that the 9-12 Projects and Tea Party groups maintain their independence and resist having their leadership usurped by outside groups or from officials of any political Party, including the Republican and the Libertarian Parties. Taking advice and information from outside groups, such as GRIT or Party Officials, is a wise move so that the leaders of the 9-12 Project and the Tea Party groups don’t have to go through as big a learning curve.
Bill Burch brought up the historical parallel between today’s problems and those that took
place prior to and through the Texas War of Independence. He also emphasized the importance of bringing back the people as the main influence on Office Holders and decreasing the impact of the lobbyist and special interest groups. A Representative should represent those who elected them rather than the Washington and Austin power brokers.
In 1821 Mexico won its independence from Spain. By 1824 it had a Constitution based on that of the United States. Beginning in 1829, Mexican leaders began going around the Constitution.
In 1833 Santa Anna, a young and charismatic General, became President of Mexico. Within a short period of time, Santa Anna began deconstructing the Constitution, taking away States rights and centralizing power in Mexico City. Delegations from throughout Mexico met with Santa Anna for two years trying to get a return to the Constitution of 1824.
Finally, on October 2, 1835, Texans in Gonzales took an armed stand against the Mexican Army.
By mid January, 1836 the Mexican Army had been pushed out of Texas. Santa Anna continued to resist a return to the Constitution and led the Mexican Army back into Texas. He sent part of his forces to Goliad while he took the rest to San Antonio.
There, on February 23rd, he looked out to the Alamo where he saw a Mexican flag with the Eagle in the center replaced with 1824, symbolizing the fight by the Texans for a return to the Constitution of 1824. During the siege, Delegates from throughout Texas met and, on March 2nd, drafted a Declaration of Independence.
Unknown to the defenders of the Alamo, the issue had changed from a battle for the Constitution to a war for independence.
Four days later, on March 6th, the Alamo fell.
All defenders, including their leaders, Colonels Jim Bowie, Davy Crocket, and William Travis, lay dead. Texans continued their fight for the Constitution, for Liberty, for Texas, for another six weeks.
On April 21, 1836 General Sam Houston and the Army of Texas won independence for Texas by defeating General Santa Anna and the Army of Mexico at San Jacinto.
Today we are again embroiled in a battle for a return to the Constitution, a battle for Liberty, a battle for Texas. This battle will be fought, not with bullets or canon, but with votes at the ballot box.
It is now up to the people who are involved with the 9-12 Project, the Tea Party, the Grass Roots Institute of Texas and other groups to continue their efforts to make people aware of what is happening to our country and our state.
The future of Texas and America depend on our efforts today. If we fail now, we may never recover.
Mr. Adrian Murray is President of the Fort Worth 9-12 Project, and Mr. Bill Burch is Chairman of G.R.I.T (Grass Roots Institute of Texas).

The only thing that WORKS for Texas is educated voters that think and choose for themselves.
Educate yourselves, make selections based on YOUR research and needs, Encourage people that fit you personal expectations to run and support them financially and with whatever skills you have that might be useful to their campaign.
We have had enough opportunists using us like puppets. It is time to GROW and stand on your own two feet.
Others will have your same values and expectations and together without political mouthpieces speaking and acting for us we will elect candidates beholding to values not political parties or organizations.

That being said:
BEWARE :
ANYONE that scripts your opportunities to engage with candidates.
You are capable of seeking them out on your own.
Also any organization or group that collects your money and decides how and on whom to spend it is no better than the political parties we now have.
To trade one mouthpiece for another just continues the deception that you have a choice and a vote.
See what I can do:

Natural and historical progression. The polticians and government became self-serving and distanced themselves from the people. In order to accomplish this they pitted group against group to divide and conquer. Thinking they had absolute power they continued and the people continued to simmer, like a dormant volcano getting ready to erupt.
Either this country has to be returned to the Constitution and it’s limitations or there will be revolution.
That means elimination of regulatory agencies and most government departments. That means basic laws that are non-discriminatory. That means bringing back public servants and peace officers eliminating self-proclaimed LEADERS and law ENFORCERS.
The first paragraph isn’t only appropriate to current events today, but has been repeated time and time again through history. Rome began and rose to power as a form of Republic, then slid into democracy, next tyranny, and then collapsed. Should we have learned from that? Our countries founders went through painstaking research and detail and knew of this…thus came the creation of the Constitution to act as the foundation and provide future guidance.

These fools in Congress have forgotten the oath they took to protect and defend the Constitution! They have also forgotten their constituents who put them in office and who they are supposed to be serving and listening too! All they see now are the lobbyists, special interest groups, and the sweetheart deals to get votes they are offiered behind locked closed doors! They have all lied, stolen, and have commited treason—they are all traitors to this country and the people they are supposed to represent! They are not worried about losing their seats because they know that the Immigration Reform bill is their savior of being re-elected! May God help us all and may we be able to vote all these traitors out in 2010 and 2012 and take our country back! That will be our only revenge as well as redemption!

CW,
Of course GRIT has formed a PAC. Like it or not, it does take money to help candidates run for office and a PAC is the only legal vehicle that can be used for that purpose.
I urge you to evaluate the candidates that GRIT decides to support before you make a knee-jerk assessment that a PAC fund makes GRIT not supportable.

What’s the matter TOM?
Did I hit a raw nerve?
I did NOT think GRIT was supporting any candidates?
Gee “PAC is the only legal vehicle that can be used for that purpose.” does that mean I need to have a PAC to support the candidate of MY choice?
I DO NOT make knee jerk assessments:)

Congratulations Doctors, Nurses and Hospital employees. Soon you will be true Government employees. Obama Care Land where a bed pan washer will receive a minimum of $72,000 per year with full benefits and a retirement plan that GM union employees dream of. Record snow fall in DC—Last shopping weekend before Christmas many areas with out electricity (no TV) are Obama’s dream. He may slip in a nice bones for you after midnight for every senior you knock off Medicare. God bless our troops and seniors.

Akeela, unfortunately some of the tea parties are astroturf. But you can’t lump all “tea party” folks in one basket.
In my area the tea partiers are made up of disgusted independents (some who voted for Obama) and neo-cons and everything in between.
Everyone else:
It’s pretty easy to tell which groups and which people are establishment. I think we need to get involved in the parties, whichever one you most closely align with and steer them in the right direction. The fiscally conservative, rule of law, constitutional, liberty, freedom, smaller government direction.
Government of, by and for the people starts in the precinct. If the local or state GOP folks don’t want new people getting involved, then that shows us where they really stand doesn’t it? We’ll get involved anyway. WE MUST!!!!
Go to nationalprecinctactivist.com for more info on this concerted, non-partisan effort.
Spread the word!!!!!

Let’s all urge our STATE legislature and Governor to support the following three constitutional amendments (or something similar):
1. A state constitutional amendment that requires the state legislature and senate to approve and adopt all un-enumerated federal legislation and regulations by a 2/3 majority vote. If it doesn’t get approved and adopted, Texas will not comply or contribute tax money for that federal law.
2. A state constitutional amendment that requires, prior to consideration of No. 1 listed above, a complete, transparent and comprehensive cost/benefit study in order to make known the positive or negative effects on the wealth, property, and freedom of Texas’ citizens.
3. In order to establish the legitimacy of enumerated federal spending, a state constitutional amendment that requires a transparent, complete and comprehensive annual financial audit of the Federal Government, including the Federal Reserve, in order to clearly establish to the citizens of Texas that their taxes are being Constitutionally procured and spent. Should the Federal Government (including Federal Courts) and Federal Reserve refuse to fully cooperate, it is the sole prerogative of the State of Texas to deny payments, in full or in part, to the Government until satisfaction has been achieved.
These three items will return true governing authority to Texas where it belongs, and will require all special interest groups to come physically to Texas to ask for our money.

CW. You need to go to the Texas Ethics Commission web site and the Secratary of States web site and read about the state law. If someone made the mistake of following what you said, they could go to prison. Just how would that make you feel?
The Tea Parties and 912’s are about saving America. If GRIT can and will help, that’s great. From what I know about these organizations, we should all get involved with one of them in our area.
I am very afraid of what is going to happen to our country. These groups are all about educating people on what is going on. I’m not Republican, but I don’t see any alternative but to vote Republican or watch our country go down the tubes.
We also must find conservatives and vote them in during the primary.

Jimmy what is with your SCARE tactics about going to jail?
Individual still have RIGHTS.
If you would use your own abilities instead of thinking you need someone else to act in your behalf we would begin to return to the LIBERTY our fore fathers intended.

CW, yes you need a PAC for an organization to receive or contribute money. But you also need a PAC for an organization to do many other things. You should research GRIT better. Go to their fan page on facebook and look at who their officers are. I also understand that Royal masset and Bobby Eberle are also officers. Seems the officers of GRIT are giving you a forum to express your views. Hmmmm.
Regarding the 9-12 and Tea Party groups. They are not, as of yet, united. If they become united, watchout Democrats and Liberal and Moderate Republicans. The story above seems to point to that beginning to happen.
Without resources and sources for information it is very difficult for anyone to get the truth. GRIT, 9-12, and Tea Party groups are able to do that. They don’t seem to care about being attacked, they seem to only care about getting the truth out. These are all volunteers whose only reward is a better country and state. Rather than attack them, I think we should support them and thank them for their efforts to wake up America.

I have participated in a few of the Tea Parties town house meetings and rallies and they are “after the truth” and a better and honest government! They are not organized that well yet but are working at it! When they do get organized, like Jimmy said, watch out Democrats and Republicans!
These rotten DUMBORATS like everything they have been doing all along…first, lying to the American people, doing things behind closed doors in secret, and passing bills in the wee hours of the morning! Now, they have met our expectations of being the spineless scumbags we all think they are and passed that healthkill bill…AND…in the wee hours of the morning! They are the “GRINCHES” “SCROOGES” and thieves of the spirit of CHRISTMAS……..but they will NEVER be able to take away or diminish the AMERICAN SPIRIT of FREEDOM and LIBERTY FOR ALL! Like John McCain said last night while debating this horrible nightmare they are ramming down our throats….THIS FIGHT HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS…..GOD BLESS OUR SENOR CITIZENS……GOD BLESS TEXAS……GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU……GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

People like Bill and Adrian are what this State and this country needs. I find it interesting how many people, as evidenced by this Christmas Party, have come out of the woodwork to take leadership roles in defense of our way of life. Bill has obviously been around for a while and his willingness to help the new leaders without pushing his weight around says a lot about him. I also think that Adrian really has the pulse of the Nation and the State.
With Christmas tomorrow, I hope this movement is successful. May god bless you and guide you all in this endeaver

To all of you who posted comments – There is no way that the Republican Party can be changed to make changes in Washington. The RP elected politicians when in control continued to ignore the limits of the Constitution. Only now when the Democrats are in charge do they quote the Constitution. They don’t read nor follow the party platform. Did Perry, Dewhurst or the Speaker endorse or sign HCR 50 authored by Rep Creighton with over 70 co sponsors – NO. TxDOT is still signing contracts with foreign organizations to run our Toll Roads. The powers that be – Council of Foreign Relations, The Tri-lateral Commission and the East Coast political mafia kings – Kissinger, Rothschilds, Rockefellers, Gore, Clintons, the Kennedy clan, the Carlyle Group, the main stream media and 39,000 K-street lobbiest, plus all those who bow down to the United Nation, etc., control our legislators like puppets on the string. It’s time 9-12er’s, the Tea Parties, and GRIT rethink whom they will support. I for one support the Constitution Party of Texas who are pledged to honor the strict construction of the rule book – The U. S. Constitution. I encourage each of you to toss your support to the third largest membership party in the U. S. You can join at http://www.cptx.us

Goodwater, you appear to have read about the elitists and that they are really the invisible ones that are running our country. You need to add to your list, the Federal Reserve Board, big banking, Bohemian Grove, Order of the Illuminati, The Masons, the Ford family, the Carnegies and J.P Morgan.
I too totally support the Constitution Party. I view the Democrats and Republicans as Siamese-twin dogs that are joined at the hip and shoulder. They share the same blood system, go everywhere together but sometimes have slightly different views. That Siamese-twin dog is the obedient pet of the big banking elitists who want to control the world. The elitists don’t own The Constitution Party. I wish that Ron Paul would join The Constitution Party and run for president of the U.S and have Jim DeMint or Tom Coburn for a vice-president. Now that would be a ticket!
