Sanford Admits Extramarital Affair

sanfordSouth Carolina GOP Gov. Mark Sanford admitted to an affair today at an afternoon press conference.

“I have been unfaithful to my wife. I developed a relationship with what started out as a dear, dear friend from Argentina,” Sanford said in a news conference at the South Carolina state capitol.

Sanford, who many saw as a 2012 Presidential hopeful, resigned his position as chair of the Republican Governor’s Association saying it was in the best interest of the RGA and that he needed more free time to focus on repairing relationships with his family and with South Carolina.

I have no sympathy for anyone who cheats on their spouse. He should resign immediately. He defied the sanctity of the lifelong sacred bond of marriage as declared before God. He also placed his hand on the bible and said he would uphold the office of Governor faithfully.

He has proved he cannot be trusted. This goes for ANYONE in public office. I am sick and tired of this nonsense.

This is a shame because Sanford looked promising for the GOP. He disgraced his family, his office, and the entire Republican party. The liberals are jumping for joy right now.

I can not tell you how much this frustrates me. I was one who as been pushing for him for 2012.

Now I have no idea who to support. Even though I would still support a Sanford 2012 run, I don’t think he has a chance now.

Very disappointing and depressing, indeed! He has hurt the Republican party and the morals they stand for by this shameful act! This is going to make it harder for the Republicans to come back for a while. I hope someone like Sara Palin will consider running for President in 2012. She might be the fresh new blood our party needs to run agains this tyrant we have in the office now!

IT JUST GOES TO PROVE…………………………………..VOTE’M ALL OUT.
POLITICS is a disease that cannot be cured but it CAN BE CONTROLED if the VOTERS will forget about this pARTY CRAP and support individuals for a LIMITED TERM so they are NOT able to be CORRUPTED by POWER.

I am at the point of no return on my support for the Republican party. I am sent surveys to complete and then asked what I could contribute to the party. I fill out the survey but instead of sending money I write the following, “When the Republican party stops looking like the liberal left and starts fighting back on basic values for those who voted them in, then I will consider giving money to support the party.” So far very few Senators or Congressmen show any stomach to fight for the Republican party platform they were elected on. This Governor is just one example of what money and position leads men who value their own personal interests above the office they represent.

CW is right – the corruption of power after being too long IN power is what creates these messes in the first place. The founding fathers placed term limits on the President for a reason. Power corrupts. We need to place extreme time limits on EVERY form of political office and stop this constant revolving door of sex, power, money and corruption.

I’m with you Robert regarding donations. I’m done. These idiots take our money and then run around and screw around on their wives and children, undermine the family, bring shame to our party’s ideals and we are the ones footing the bill.

It is time for everyone to cut the incumbents off. Period. No money. You want to spend some money? Go have a bake sale and raise some bucks yourself. You ain’t getting one thin dime from me.

I’m done.

He needs to go! He has not only hurt and let down his family—who should be the most imprtant considerations in his life, but he has let his constutents down, his party, and conservatives whose chances of beating these idiots that are destroying our country have probably been lessoned! He needs to step down! He has disgraced the office he holds!

What a memorable Father’s Day for his family and the rest of the conservative movement.

Selfish and self-serving, all the while lying and acting sophomoric. We don’t need an old dog doing new tricks. It’s been done. What a dirtbag
